Total Package Vacation: A Cruise

A cruise vacation is a total package deal, which is one thing that makes it the most appealing.  The only things you need to worry about include plan tickets to and from the departing port city and the cost of the cruise.  The reason a cruise is a package deal is because it includes food, lodging, and entertainment.  You are not required to pay for anything else unless you want to shop or pay for alcoholic beverages on the ship.

The major cost of a cruise vacation is the cruise itself.  You will have to pay for each person in the family.  If you are trying to go on a budget, be sure you get a room that will fit everyone.  The more staterooms you have to pay for, the more money it will cost you.  Many cruise ships charge a lot of money for a big room but you don’t have to pay a bunch for each additional person.  This can actually come out to a cheap vacation.  If you are celebrating your naturalization application being approved through USCIS, a cruise is a low cost way to celebrate with the entire family.

One of the most expensive costs when you take a vacation is lodging in hotel rooms.  If you have a large family with immigration forms, they may be split up in different rooms.  Paying for many different hotel rooms can be far too expensive.  This is often the cause of many families not going on vacation each year.  A cruise is the package deal and once you pay for the cruise you don’t have to pay any additional charges for lodging.  You sleep every night on the ship in a cabin.  The cabins have plenty of space for people to put their clothes in a closet, televisions to watch, a bed to sleep in, and some even have an outdoor balcony so you can step outside and see the ocean.

Some people think the food on a cruise ship is the most extravagant that you will find in the world.  Depending on where the cruise is headed to, this could be true.  Expect a lot of seafood; you are going to be at sea.  Also, you can expect amazing fresh fruit, constant buffets, and even a formal dinner night on some ships.  Dining is included with a cruise and you won’t have to pay anything in addition for food once you board the ship.  That is of course, if you don’t want to buy something from the gift shop.  Always remember alcoholic beverages are not included as free with a cruise.  You will receive a bill at the end of the vacation.

The best package deal vacation you can consider for a big family is a cruise.  All you have to pay for is the cruise itself, the transportation to get to the leaving and arriving ports, and any additional shopping you want to do while you are away.  Be sure to bring spending cash and be careful not to charge items to your room.  You might have a big bill at the end of the trip.

Cruise ships are a lot of fun. If you are planning a cruise then there are many things that you cannot miss out on when you are on board. These things include the midnight buffets, the hidden day excursions, photos, and the night clubs.

Consider cruising during the holidays too. One of the best times to take a cruise is during Christmas when you can experience another cultures way of celebrating the holiday. The cruise ships decorate amazingly with artificial Christmas trees. You will love the way they decorate their Christmas trees. When you get to the different exotic destinations you will love the lighted palm trees too. The holidays is an amazing experience.

When you take a cruise most of the ships will lay out a midnight buffet for the night owls to enjoy. These foods are usually the freshest fruits you will have ever eaten in your life and some you may have never even seen before. You will be able to graze off of the largest spreads of fresh fish you have ever seen. The midnight buffets are free for all and a must. You cannot be on a diet when you take a cruise. The foods are exotic and you must try everything that you can.

One of the great things about taking a cruise is the hidden day excursions. You might be stopping for the day in Ocho Rios and you want to go somewhere where no one else is. The recommended places to go are usually packed with other tourists and too commercial for your liking. Many of the employees on board the ships will tell you of private getaways for the day that are luxurious and amazing. Imagine a rope swing over a fresh water lake with your family. Always tip the employee on the boat well and they will take care of you.

Cruises always take professional photos or your vacation with them. You may not know that they are capturing your vacation throughout the different days but they are. At the end of the trip you will be able to view the many photos taken of your vacation with them from the formal dinner, fun at sea, and so much more. You can purchase these photos from the cruise line and you should. These are great memories and it is well worth the price. When you take a cruise make sure that you budget for the cost of the photos on the trip. They are professional, framed, glossy, and 5×7s.

All cruise ships have night clubs also. When you take a cruise you have to check out the night clubs late at night. Keep in mind the later you go at night the less people will be there so if you don’t like a crowd but you like the fun then you should consider going at night. There are also night clubs that seem to be hidden on the ship. Just look around and you will be able to find all of them. They are a great way to spend one of your nights while you are on a cruise.

There are many things about cruise ships that you cannot miss out on when you take a vacation with a major cruise line. These things include the private getaways, night clubs, the private photos, and more. You must check out everything that you can when you take a cruise. It will make the most of your vacation.

Cruises are perfect for people who don’t want the stress of a vacation. Vacations are hectic when you have to get to the hotel of your destination, acquire or setup transportation, pay for dining and meals etc. It can also be expensive when paying for each of these. When you pay for a cruise, all you need is transportation to the cruise ship port where you will take off. You will have a room on board the ship to sleep in as your private quarters for the duration of the cruise. Food and beverages are free. The cruise ships provide entertainment, sporting activities, dancing, movie theaters, bowling, and so many more things that won’t cost you anything extra while you are on board. When you take a cruise you go to many different luxurious destinations. The cruise ship will dock at a local port that is popular and in the middle of all of the excitement. You don’t have to guess where to go when you take a cruise and you won’t get lost. Having the opportunity to see many different places is a big benefit and if you planned the trip on your own then you might pay quite a bit of money to see many different destinations.

Cruises are for however long you want them to be. You can choose to get away for an entire month if you want to. They start out at three day excursions and go from 5, 7, 14, and even 30 days. If you are planning a cruise during the holidays you just made life easier again because you won’t have to decorate this year. The cruise ships are full of artificial Christmas trees you can enjoy. Pack Smart for a Cruise

There is no holiday like a cruise. Cruises allow you to enjoy onboard entertainment and amenities – which are often downright luxurious on today’s vessels – and stunning views of the water. Stopovers at ports allow you to explore whole new cities for a few hours. Cruises evoke romance and the good life. If you are lucky enough to be heading on a cruise, here are some ideas for packing smart:

1) Get a copy of the ship’s itinerary. If there are any theme nights or special events, you will want to bring the right clothes. Also, when reading the itinerary, be sure to check out the ports of call. What sorts of clothing should you bring for each port? Even if you are traveling in the dead of summer, do bring along some sweaters, since evenings on the water tend to be cool. Ask your cruising company if they have a suggested packing list. It can really make packing much easier.

2) Bring plenty traveler’s checks. Travelers checks are often a safer form of money because they can be cancelled if they are stolen. You will not want to rely on the on-board ATM too much, since it can mean higher ATM charges.

3) Bring scented candles if your ship permits candles onboard. If you can, bring Trapp candles or other high-quality scented candles. They are a perfect way to make your cabin homey and the unlit candles will scent your entire wardrobe as well. Plus, once they are used up, you will have freed some space in your luggage for souvenirs!

4) Pack clothes in one color family and pack clothes that require minimal care. Wrinkle-free clothes in neutral colors such as black, charcoal, navy and true red will match each other and you won’t have to pack as many shoes to match every outfit.

5) Hit the stores before you go. You can buy plenty of things on board and you can buy souvenirs at ports of call, but these are the more expensive options. Hit the local clothes stores, jewelry stores and online souvenir stores before you sail and you are more likely to find bargains. In general, the stores on board are the most expensive, so bring everything you need – including extra batteries for your camera and a small first aid kit.

6) Pack small and look for double-duty items. Look for products that are designed to be small for travel – such as fold-up toothbrushes and combs. They make packing much easier. For beauty products, look for travel or trail sizes and look for products that do double-duty. For example, you can use scented lotion rather than perfume or use a body and hair shampoo rather than a soap and shampoo. Foldable hair dryers that also double as clothes irons are another great idea on a cruise.

7) Make a list of what you really use during a week. Do you really use all those personal care items in your toiletry kit? Do you really wear as many outfits as you think? Keep track of what you do and don’t use on paper for a week or two. If you don’t use that special gel during the week, you likely won’t use it on the cruise, either, so it shouldn’t take up the extra room in your luggage.

Make Your Vacation About Rest, Not Work

Some vacationers like to work hard at their vacations. My friend, who works as an Internet marketing consultant, is just now planning a holiday that will see her hiking to major tourist attractions and even volunteering time at a local charity! That is just not my style. When I go on a vacation, I don’t want to have to take another vacation just to recover. Luckily, I am remarkably good at being lazy – or at working hard at relaxing. From my travels I have found a few tips that can help you totally unwind on your next trip:

1) Set your expectations low. If you are traveling to a new place, you may feel like you “need” to see the best museums and attractions. Piling up your itinerary just leads to stress and inevitable disappointment. A better strategy is to read up about a place you will visit and then let serendipity take its course. Take a stroll in areas that interest you, but allow yourself to really just experience the destination. Don’t both trying to micromanage every minute. It’s a vacation, not a board meeting.

2) Find ways to relax in the hotel room. Most travel accommodations are not exactly designed to relax you. Impersonal hotel rooms or tiny little cottages don’t always soothe the world-weary traveler. That’s one reason why I pack scented candles when I go anywhere. I just pop open my suitcase, pour myself something nice and light a few wonderfully scented Votivo candles around my room and I have instant mood lighting and aromatherapy in one. Plus, the unlit candles in my suitcase leave my clothes smelling great while the lit candles get out the musty or smoky smell of my hotel room.

3) Learn the art of lingering. While others are off rushing to see a show or a theme park, allow yourself an extra cup of coffee by the pool. It’s you vacation, you can take the extra time with a good book in the park or an hour-long lunch.

4) Consider being where people aren’t. Of course, you don’t want to go wandering alone along empty alleys, but do consider checking out less crowded venues. Travel during the off season, which is less expensive and less stressful, or at least find out which attractions are less well-known. You’ll discover something unique and you’ll have more room to breathe.

5) Talk to people. You will learn more about a place if you talk to people who live there. Ask the clerk at a shop for a restaurant recommendation or ask the hotel doorman about walking tours in the area. You will learn a lot by asking questions about tourist attractions and about the history of a place. I think you will be pleasantly surprised as well – people are eager to talk about their home towns and will generally have stories and anecdotes you won’t find in any tour guide.

6) Get up and move. While lazing around every day is fun at first, mild exercise – such as a short walk each day – will make you feel healthier and better.
